Special features of molasses-free Lucerne pellets:
Lucerne, also known as alfalfa, is the oldest known forage plant. It was already fed to horses 500 years BC. Today, lucerne is often a source of fiber in many mueslis. Due to the valuable properties of lucerne, it is also a very valuable addition to the diet of a horse or pony in its pure form. It contains a high protein content, β-carotene, vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids.
Molasses-free lucerne does not disturb the digestive system with starch and sugars like grain-rich and molasses-rich diets do. This allows the fiber digestion from roughage to function optimally and lucerne provides sufficient energy.
Lucerne has a high calcium content. Calcium is important for bones and joints. Calcium is therefore beneficial for the development of bones and joints in young horses and for maintaining healthy bones and joints in sport horses. Additionally, the high calcium content can compensate for the high phosphorus content in a grain-rich diet.
This lucerne is pressed into pellets, unlike many other lucerne products that are chopped. No molasses or other binders were used in the pressing process. The advantage of the pellets is that the product is dust-free and less sharp than chopped lucerne. This is beneficial for horses that do not find chopped lucerne appetizing or comfortable.
Lucerne pellets are ideal for:

Recommended feeding of lucerne for horses and ponies:
- To upgrade the basic feed: 0.3 kg to 0.5 kg per 100 kg target weight
- As a grain replacement: Approx. 1.2 kg lucerne pellets replaces 1 kg of grain
- Feeding sport and breeding horses: 0.5 kg to 0.8 kg per 100 kg target weight as a source of protein and energy
- We recommend soaking for about 30 minutes with enough water before feeding.

Horse feed is never shipped for free, even if the order exceeds 99/149 euros. Due to the weight, bales and sacks need to be packed in multiple packages, and most products need to be shipped individually. If you order 10 bales/sacks of 15 kg each, expect them to be delivered in 5 to 10 packages.
