Bitless Bridle, Jaw-Crossed
A jaw-crossed bitless bridle affects the horse's jaws, cheeks, and neck. The reins run through rings on the noseband under the head, cross there, and are attached to the headpiece. This means that when you want to turn left, your horse experiences pressure on the right side of its nose, on its right cheek, and also a little behind its ears. The pressure you apply with your riding hand is distributed across different areas of the horse's head; some horses find this comfortable and gentle. However, it can sometimes be confusing for horses as well.
