FRA Chico suede nubuck bareback pad
- size horse-cob
- color red or blue
- constructed with multiple layers for good pressure distribution
- very flexible
- with detachable handle
- delivery excluding girth
Advantages of the Chico bareback pad:
+ built with multiple layers for good pressure distribution
+ flexibility positively impacts the fit
+ excellent grip for the rider due to the suede nubuck leather top
+ synthetic wool underside, no non-slip on the coat
+ high seating comfort
+ lightweight
Disadvantages of the Chico bareback pad:
- lacks anatomical shape
- no spine clearance
- synthetic wool underside may slide more easily on the horse as non-slip
- the bareback pad has rings to attach stirrup leathers, however, it cannot sufficiently distribute the pressure from the stirrup leathers. Therefore, we advise against using them.
The FRA Chico bareback pad is ideal for:
- use 2 to 3 times a week
- horses and ponies with little to medium withers
- riders who want good grip on the bareback pad
- horses and ponies that cannot tolerate non-slip material
The nubuck bareback pad is less suitable for:
- Horses and ponies with high withers
- Horses and ponies with protruding spine.
Stirrup leathers on the Chico bareback pad:
This bareback pad has flat stirrup leather rings finished with a thick layer of leather. As a result, most riders do not feel the rings. We advise against attaching stirrup leathers to the bareback pad as they cause pressure points on the horse's back, which can lead to injuries. Also, the bareback pad may shift due to the use of stirrup leathers.
Delivery and necessary accessories:
The bareback pad is delivered without a girth. For use, you need a dressage girth. There is a matching FRA lambskin girth available, the supersingel, which ensures stable positioning.
Material of the nubuck suede bareback pad:
Top: 4mm thick nubuck leather
Internal structure: High Density Foam seat on a rubber sheet, underneath foam again with 3mm thick felt
Underside: synthetic wool
Girth straps: dressage girth straps reinforced with nylon
Maintenance of the bareback pad:
Clean the top with a soft brush and/or wet cloth. Brush and vacuum the underside. To maintain the product/suede, occasionally spray the bareback pad with leather impregnation spray, making it more dirt and water repellent.
