Design of correction western pad with inserts:
Most treeless and western saddles have no or only small cushions on the underside that do not adequately free the spine during riding. This is a conscious choice for treeless saddles because they are supposed to be flexible, and the more "cushion" you add to the bottom, the stiffer the saddles become. That's why you need a special pad with inserts for many treeless saddles. This is the "finishing touch" in pressure distribution and spine freedom. In western saddles, this has been the case for years, and that's why western saddles are always used in combination with the well-known thick pad. However, this often non-anatomical pad can be replaced by a slightly more modern variant with a better fit and more protection for the back muscles and spine. The Kifra western pads are anatomically shaped for an optimal fit. On both sides of the spine is one large compartment for inserts that run the entire length of the pad, these can be closed with Velcro. Because the pad with inserts is filled on both sides of the spine, extra spine freedom is created under the saddle, and the pad does not pinch or chafe the spine during riding. In addition, the correction Kifra pad has 3 correction/shimp pockets on both sides of the spine at the top of the pad. Where, if necessary, correction inserts/foam can be placed to improve the position of the saddle on the horse's back.
Advantages of Kifra western pad with lambskin inserts:
+ with shimp options for making corrections in the saddle position
+ provides extra spine freedom when using inserts under treeless and western saddles
+ improves pressure distribution when using inserts under treeless and western saddles
+ shaved channel for the spine in the lambskin underside provides more spine freedom and prevents irritation
+ the lambskin underside contributes to pressure distribution under the saddle and prevents chafing
+ extra reinforcement at the level of the girth straps
+ delivered with removable neoprene/foam inserts and shims
Disadvantages of Kifra correction western pad with lambskin inserts:
- lambskin is, especially when it is brand new, slippery and can cause the saddle to slide more quickly on round horses
- for the production of lambskin, a sheep is slaughtered, so the product is not sheep-friendly
- to maintain the benefits of lambskin, a lambskin pad must be washed with lambskin detergent
- if you use inserts that you already have, you may need to cut them to size

Choose whether the Kifra pad should be delivered with approx. 12mm thick neoprene/foam inserts or without. With inserts, it is 10 euros more expensive.
Maintenance and washing of the lambskin Kifra pad:
To keep the pad in good condition, it is advisable to occasionally clean it with the vacuum cleaner if it is a bit dirty, do not put it directly in the washing machine. If the pad really needs to be washed, it can be machine washed at up to 30 degrees, spin at a maximum of 400 times. Lambskin detergent should be used as detergent. Do not put it in the dryer. Remove the inserts before washing, then the pad will dry much faster, and close the Velcro to prevent it from getting completely filled with lint and hair. Lambskin should dry slowly and should not be dried in the sun.
