Advantages of the Christ Plus Fellsattel:
+ Lambskin very soft for horse and rider, promotes pressure distribution
+ Provides spine freedom
+ Removable pressure-distributing inserts, can be renewed or replaced with other types of inserts if desired
+ Anatomically shaped
+ With thigh blocks and back support for the rider
+ No lambskin under the sweat flaps for precise leg aids
+ With handle
+ Removable lambskin seat
+ Matching pad with optional inserts available
Disadvantages of the Christ Premium Fellsattel:
- Lambskin is, especially when new, slippery and can cause the bareback pad to slide faster on round horses or the rider to have less grip on the bareback pad
- A sheep is slaughtered for the production of lambskin, so the product is not sheep-friendly
- The bareback pad has rings to attach stirrups
- No V-girth system
The Christ Premium bareback pad is ideal for:
- Regular use, 3 to 4 times a week
- With a matching pad with inserts, 4 to 5 times a week
- Horses and ponies with medium or no withers
- Riders who prefer a bit more support
- Riders who prefer a very soft seat
The Christ Premium bareback pad is less suitable for:
- Riders who need grip on the bareback pad
- Horses and ponies with (extremely) high withers (consider the Christ XH model)
Delivery and necessary accessories:
The bareback pad is delivered without a girth. For use, a dressage girth is required. A matching lambskin girth from Christ is available. Other dressage girths without lambskin that can stabilize the position are also commonly used. For intensive use, the matching pad with inserts can be ordered separately.
Christ lambskin colors:
- Natural-black
- Anthracite-black
- Brown-brown (Please note that the brown lambskin is more gray than warm brown in color)

Stirrup leathers on the Christ bareback pad:
Like all bareback pads, it is not recommended to ride with stirrups on the Christ bareback pad, as this can cause pressure points on one or two vertebrae. However, it is possible to attach stirrup leathers with stirrups to a Christ Fellsattel.
Material of the gel bareback pad:
Top: lambskin
Interior: inserts made of composite foam
Bottom: lambskin
Girth straps: artificial leather reinforced with nylon
Maintenance of the lambskin bareback pad:
The bareback pad is machine washable on a cold cycle, using a lambskin detergent. Lambskin should dry slowly, not in direct sunlight. The seat and inserts are removable, allowing the bareback pad to be washed in parts and fit better in the washing machine.
