Shape of the EDIX pad with Amazon inserts:
The pad is anatomically shaped for an optimal fit. On both sides of the spine, there is one large compartment for inserts that runs the entire length of the pad and can be closed with Velcro. By raising the pad with inserts on both sides of the back, spine freedom is created. The model is specifically designed for the EDIX Amazon bareback pad.
Advantages of the EDIX Amazon pad made of sheepskin:
+ A shorn channel for the spine on the sheepskin underside provides more spine freedom and is seamless to prevent irritation
+ The sheepskin underside contributes to pressure distribution under the bareback pad and prevents chafing
+ With inserts for more spine freedom and shock absorption
Disadvantages of the sheepskin bareback pad:
- Sheepskin, especially when new, is slippery and can cause the bareback pad to shift more quickly on round horses
- Sheep must be slaughtered to produce sheepskin, so the product is not sheep-friendly
Material of the pad with inserts:
- Top: Very durable cotton quilted fabric, reinforced with nylon on the underside where the girth and rider's leg come into contact with the pad to prevent wear
- Inner filling: Felt
- Underside: Merino sheepskin (sheepskin improves pressure distribution)
- Inserts: 3 Mesh
Care of the sheepskin pad:
To keep the pad in good condition for a long time, it is recommended to occasionally clean it with a vacuum cleaner if it is slightly dirty. If the pad really needs to be washed, it can be machine washed at up to 30 degrees Celsius, but do not put it in the dryer. Use sheepskin detergent to wash the pad.
Available in two sizes:
- Size S fits exactly under the Amazon bareback pad in size S pony-cob.
- Size M-L fits exactly under the Amazon bareback pad in size M horse-cob and L draught horse.
