The EDIX sheepskin dressage pad is anatomically shaped for an optimal fit. The pad provides spine freedom thanks to the inserts on both sides of the spine, and there is also short sheepskin along the spine. The sheepskin is shorn short here. The advantage of shorn sheepskin is that there are no irritating seams around the spine. The top of the pad is made of cotton, and the bottom is made of Merino sheepskin. The sheepskin is antibacterial, improves pressure distribution, and prevents chafing. There are 8 compartments for inserts/shims, with 1 large compartment on each side running the entire length of the pad and 3 small compartments allowing for front/middle/back adjustments.
Advantages of the EDIX sheepskin dressage pad:
+ Shorn channel for the spine in the sheepskin underside provides more spine freedom and is seamless to prevent irritations
+ The sheepskin underside contributes to pressure distribution under the saddle and prevents chafing

Disadvantages of the sheepskin dressage pad:
- Sheepskin, especially when new, is slippery and can cause the saddle to slide more quickly on round horses
- Sheep must be slaughtered to produce sheepskin, so the product is not sheep-friendly
- To maintain the benefits of sheepskin, a sheepskin pad must be washed with sheepskin detergent
