Slow feeder version from Duranet
Square/rectangular hay nets/slow feeders for feeding roughage to horses and ponies.
Duranet produces high-quality nets. Sustainable, environmentally friendly, more than 95% of the raw materials used for Duranet products are recyclable. The nets are made from durable, knotless, strong polypropylene with a wire thickness of 5mm.
The flat hay net bags are sewn closed on the sides and open at the top. All four corners are equipped with 6mm thick and 1 meter long hanging cords.
Why feed with hay net/slow feeder:
Feeding roughage (hay and silage) with a hay net bag slows down the foraging time. The horse cannot consume large amounts of roughage at once, similar to how it would in nature. A horse naturally eats for an average of 16 hours a day, and its digestive system is adapted to this. A longer eating time has a positive effect on the digestive system, for example, reducing the risk of stomach ulcers. It also prevents boredom and reduces stable vices. An additional advantage is that less roughage is wasted with a hay net.

Placement:
The hay net bags should be hung so that they are 20cm above the ground at the bottom. This maintains the horse's natural foraging posture. Do not hang the bag above the horse's head, as dust can enter the horse's airways. Use is at your own risk. It is advisable not to let the horse wear a halter or horseshoes when using the hay net, as there is only a minimal chance that the horse will get caught in the hay net. Except for a safety pasture halter that can easily come off in case of emergency, see an example here. For very small hooves, it is advisable to use the Duranet hay net bag with a 45mm mesh size.
Separate, easy-to-use attachment materials available: the Duranet mounting plate and carabiner hook.
Stal Oberon Coaching:
This net is also the choice of Stal Oberon Coaching. They found it very convenient that the nets had small meshes and could be custom-made.
Made in Europe
This hay net is made in Belgium, so the net has a low environmental impact and is produced under good working conditions.
