Slow Feeder Hay Net with medium-sized mesh
USG has mazen of 5 cm x 5 cm. This slows down the hay intake and lengthens the time it takes for the horse to consume the same amount of hay compared to not using a net or using a net with larger mazen. The horse's foraging time is therefore longer, helping to prevent digestive tract issues.
Advantages of the slow feeder:
- Slows down hay intake
- Prolongs the time to consume the same amount
- Increases the horse's foraging time
Color of the medium-sized hay net:
The hay net is only available in black.
Dimensions and capacity of the hay net:
The hay net has mazen of 5 cm x 5 cm and, when unfilled, has a length of 75 cm. The rope has a thickness of 5 mm. Approximately 4 to 5 kg of hay can fit in the net. The net is knotted; upon first use, there is some play in these knots, but they tighten with use. It comes with a closing/attachment cord.
Material of the USG hay net slow feeder:
The hay net is made of 5 mm thick nylon, which makes it very sturdy.
Natural feeding position:
The hay net should ideally be positioned low so that the horses can eat in their natural feeding position (with their heads low to prevent dust from entering their airways).
Caution with Horseshoes:
Horses with horseshoes have the risk of catching their shoe while moving their hoof along the hay net, which can cause injury. Therefore, caution is advised when using the hay net with a horse wearing horseshoes!
