Design of treeless pad with inserts:
Most treeless saddles lack or only have small cushions on the underside, which inadequately keep the spine free during riding. This is a deliberate choice because treeless saddles are supposed to be flexible, and the more "cushioning" you add to the bottom, the stiffer the saddles become. Therefore, you need a special pad with inserts for many treeless saddles. This is the "finishing touch" in pressure distribution and spine freedom. The Kifra treeless saddle pads are anatomically shaped for an optimal fit. On both sides of the spine, there is one large compartment for inserts that run the entire length of the pad. These can be closed using Velcro. By filling the pad with inserts on both sides of the spine, extra spine freedom is created under the saddle, and the pad does not pinch or rub on the spine during riding.

Disadvantages of Kifra Cotton Pad with Inserts:
- The insert compartments open at the bottom of the pad, and these need to be properly closed to prevent irritation from the Velcro on the skin/fur.
- The pad is somewhat heavy.
- If the included inserts are slightly too large, you can trim them yourself.

The Western pad is delivered with double felt inserts and thin shims in each correction pocket 1.
Maintenance and Washing of Kifra Pad with Inserts:
To keep the pad in good condition, it is advisable to occasionally clean it with a vacuum cleaner if it's a bit dirty. If the pad needs a thorough wash, it can be machine washed at up to 40 degrees, but do not put it in the dryer. Remove inserts before washing to speed up the drying process, and close Velcro straps to prevent them from getting covered in lint and hair.
