What is a crossed bitless bridle?

A crossed bitless bridle works around the nose. In this bitless bridle, the straps at the bottom of the nose are crossed, and the reins are attached to them. This allows for increased pressure around the nose during a transition back if you were to pull hard on the reins. Thus, the horse experiences full pressure around the nose during a transition back. When giving directional aids, the horse receives pressure on its nose to the left or right.
