Advantages of Equiblock lick stone especially for horses:
The Equiblock lick stone is specially designed for horses with the best composition of minerals, trace elements, vitamins, and enzymes. This strengthens the immune system for increased resistance to diseases. Furthermore, it contributes to the improvement of fertility, growth, blood circulation, metabolism, and overall health. The Equiblock lick stone also contributes to the strengthening of joints, tendons, and connective tissue.
Lick stone with biotin:
The added biotin has a positive effect on the structure and resilience of hooves and hair. It promotes the formation of keratin cells: the cells that hooves and hair are made of. More keratin cells ensure better quality of hoof horn and coat.
Supplementing salt needs with a lick stone:
Salt is the most important mineral that horses, cattle, sheep, and goats need. The natural salt content of grass and hay is insufficient to fully meet the needs of the animals. The animals have a natural ability to sense their salt needs, and with the Mediterraneo lick stones, they can provide for their individual needs.
Why magnesium oxide in the lick stone instead of magnesium citrate or chelate:
When feeding magnesium to your horse, it is important that the magnesium dissolves well so that it is absorbable for the horse. When a deficiency needs to be supplemented and large amounts of magnesium need to be fed, a well stomach-soluble magnesium type, such as citrate or chelate, is needed. However, in a lick stone, magnesium(oxide) comes in small amounts into the stomach, a maintenance dose. The small amounts of magnesium oxide from a lick stone dissolve in the acidic environment of the stomach because it is such a small amount, making the magnesium still absorbable for the horse. Also, magnesium oxide can better withstand the salty environment of the lick stone.
