What is a Sidepull Bitless Bridle?
The EDIX Rose is a sidepull bitless bridle where both reins are attached to rings on the sides of the head. The bridle helps with directly relieving any pressure given by the rider. When you apply pressure on both reins, it is exerted on the horse's nose. When you release the pressure, it is immediately off the nose. This provides a quick release which is a very clear signal for most horses. When you turn your horse to the right, the bridle slightly lifts off the cheek. On the other side, it will press slightly against the cheek, combined with your seat aids, your horse then bends in the desired direction. The nosepiece is broad and softly padded, so the impact on your horse's nose is soft and limited.
No Browband
At EDIX, we recommend using your bridle without a browband. There is no need for a browband to keep your bridle stable on your horse. This avoids pressure behind the ears and on the poll. We also believe that less is more. It is nice to see your horse's face without a browband.
Colors of the EDIX Bitless Bridle:
Material of the EDIX Rose Bitless Bridle:
Argentinian Leather
Sizes of the EDIX Bridle:
Adjusting the Sidepull Bridle
A sidepull fits like a normal bridle. The noseband should hover about four fingers above the mouth. It should not rest on the vulnerable lower nose bone. Try to keep two fingers' distance from the cheekbones. The chin strap can be snug but make sure the horse can still comfortably open its mouth. If the chin strap is too loose, the aids will be less clear for your horse/pony, and it also increases the chance of the horse losing its bridle.
Delivery of the EDIX Bridle:
When you place an order, you will receive only the headpiece. Reins can be ordered separately, allowing you to choose the reins according to your preference.
Care for Argentinian Leather:
For the care of the bridle, EDIX recommends using Oakwood products. Be careful with light leather colors, as they may discolor with the use of care products; always choose a colorless product as much as possible.
