The gel bareback pad is less suitable for:

Inexperienced or unsure riders
Horses and ponies with high withers
A, B, C, and narrow D ponies, as the girth is too long for them. However, the bareback pad can be combined with other western girths, allowing it to be used on smaller horses if a different girth is used.
