We Reuse Packaging Materials

It may not look pretty, but it’s sustainable. Becidor is committed to contributing to the preservation of the earth’s quality of life. We avoid contributing to waste production by not purchasing new boxes for our customers, which often end up in the trash. Additionally, the production of these boxes requires wood, leading to deforestation, and not all forests are replanted. The production of cardboard also consumes a lot of water and energy. Here's what we reuse:

Boxes

We reuse boxes from:

• Our suppliers
• A dentist (very sturdy hygienic boxes)
• A shoe store (shoe boxes, ideal for small packages)
• A fruit juice company (apple juice boxes)
• A municipality (letterbox and mini boxes)

These boxes may not look perfect, but they’re clean and strong enough to safely transport your new purchase! However, they are not sufficient for all our packages, so we also buy boxes. We’ve found a dealer who buys second-hand and surplus boxes, so we can reuse them instead of having new ones made just for us.

Feed Bags

We reuse feed bags for shipping horse feed. These bags protect the new bags during transport. Sometimes, horse feed is also shipped in a box, depending on your order. The reused packaging bag may not always match the product you ordered and is recognizable by tape. It may initially seem like you received the wrong product, but rest assured, the correct product is inside!

Packing Material

When not necessary, we do not use packing material. For example, a bareback pad is packed in a box of the correct size and does not need additional packing material. However, for packages with heavy objects or bottles of liquid, we use packing material to prevent damage or leaks. We only use packing materials received from our suppliers, so we reuse them. We do not purchase packing materials.

Invoices, Packing Slips, and Return Forms

You won’t find invoices, packing slips, or return forms in our packages. You will receive your invoice digitally with your order confirmation, so we don’t need to print it. You can save it on your computer/phone or print it if you prefer. Packing slips are checked off digitally in our warehouse. On our website, you can download the return form if needed, and you can also send it back to us digitally. We can email you a return label upon request, which you can print yourself. Less than 5% of our orders are returned, so we save 95 unnecessary printed return forms and labels for every 100 orders.

Card Payments

If you pay by card in our store, you won’t receive a paper receipt. You can choose to receive the receipt via SMS or email.

What We Don’t Reuse

Unfortunately, it’s (still) not possible to reuse tape. We’ve tried, but it doesn’t stick well the second time. Therefore, we do buy tape to seal the packages. Where possible, we use paper tape, but it’s not suitable for heavy boxes or boxes with existing plastic tape.
