Super Strong Double Pony Hay Net Slow Feeder
This hay net is knotless and made from extremely robust material (polypropylene), ensuring its durability. It features a double net, making the mesh even smaller and ideal for very slow feeding, such as for Shetland ponies and small ponies. The unique double fine mesh and quality reduce hay loss and keep the stable environment cleaner.
Advantages of the super strong hay net:
+ Made from very robust material
+ Includes 7 meters of strong hanging rope
+ Double mesh
+ Less hay loss and a cleaner stable
+ Long lifespan
Why feed with a hay net/slow feeder:
Feeding roughage (hay and pre-dried forage) using a hay net slows down the feeding time. The horse can take in smaller amounts of forage at once, similar to how it would in nature. Horses eat an average of 16 hours a day in nature, and their digestive system is designed for this. A longer feeding time has a positive effect on the digestive system, such as a reduced risk of stomach ulcers or colic. Additionally, a longer feeding time reduces boredom and prevents stable vices. Another benefit is that less forage is wasted with a hay net.
Dimensions of the hay net:
- Capacity approximately 5 kg of hay
- Size: 75 cm x 75 cm
- Mesh size: 2 cm outside, 1.5 cm inside
This slow feeder hay net is ideal for:
- Shetland ponies
- Small ponies
Please note: Has your pony or Shetland pony never used a hay net before? This hay net may cause frustration as the mesh is very small and your pony will have to work hard to get the hay out. A gradual transition from a net with slightly larger mesh can help.
Material of the fine-mesh hay net:
The hay nets are made of polyester.
Color of the super strong slow feeder:
The hay net is beige/black with a black hanging rope.
Placing the slow feeder:
The hay net bags should be hung so that they are 20 cm above the ground. This maintains the horse's natural feeding posture. The net should not be hung above the horse's head, as this can cause dust to enter the horse's airways. Use at your own risk. It is recommended not to use a halter or horseshoes when using the hay net to minimize the risk of the horse getting caught in the net.
