Unique Horn Active Stable Balancer 4kg
The Unique Horn Active Stable Balancer combats strong ammonia odors in the stable by promoting aerobic decomposition instead of anaerobic decomposition. This improves the stable climate for both the respiratory system and the hooves.
- Reduces ammonia formation
- Decreases harmful air
- Unlimited shelf life if stored properly
- Healthier manure decomposition in the horse stable
- Bucket 4kg
Ammonia in the Horse Stable
Do you also notice the strong ammonia smell in the horse stable? Imagine this: if you can smell it, your horse is definitely affected. Not only because it spends several hours a day in the stable, but also because it lies down in the bedding, close to the source of the sharp odor.
Whether it's a closed or open run-in stable: ammonia concentration is highest up to 30 centimeters above the bedding. This means that your horse's respiratory system is exposed to harmful gases when it sleeps or rests.
The Active Stable Balancer helps to reduce ammonia formation and binds existing ammonia (e.g., from urine). This leads to a significant reduction in harmful air in the horse stable.
Bacteria and Manure Decomposition
Bacteria are responsible for breaking down organic matter such as manure. This can occur in two ways: aerobic and anaerobic. Anaerobic decomposition happens without additional oxygen and produces a penetrating smell. Aerobic decomposition, on the other hand, occurs through bacteria that use oxygen in the process. Aerobic decomposition is faster and results in significantly fewer harmful gases. The higher temperature during this decomposition process also creates a healthier stable climate as harmful fungi, bacteria, and parasites have fewer opportunities to develop. This is also positive for the hooves, as they come into contact with fewer fungi, bacteria, and parasites.
Benefits of Active Stable Balancer
+ Healthier stable air
+ Reduction in germ pressure (from harmful fungi, bacteria, and parasites)
+ Healthier manure decomposition in the horse stable
+ Less strain on (sensitive) respiratory system
+ Less strain on (sensitive) hooves
Suitable for supporting:
- Thrush
- White line disease
- Mud fever
- Respiratory issues
Instructions for Use of Active Stable Balancer
To optimally manage manure in the horse stable, it is recommended to regularly loosen the bedding and apply the Active Stable Balancer weekly. Add 50g Active Stable Balancer per m² of bedding in the stable. Sprinkle once a week on the stable floor and distribute evenly according to the amount of manure, e.g., solid manure: 50 g per m².
Tips for Composting Horse Manure
If you want to compost the horse manure from the stable in the best possible way, choose a shady, sheltered location to prevent the compost from drying out.
By mixing with other materials, such as leaves or mowed grass, ventilation can be optimized, ensuring that the decomposition process proceeds as effectively as possible. A compost pile managed this way does not smell and does not become a breeding ground for pests. As microbial activity in the compost increases, the temperature rises. This heat kills parasites such as worms. The resulting compost is free of parasites and has a brown, crumbly texture – it becomes what is known as nutrient humus.
With longer storage, nutrient humus transforms into stable humus, which is less fertilizing but has a strong soil-improving, building effect.
