The pad is anatomically shaped for an optimal fit. On both sides of the spine, there is a large insert pocket that runs the entire length of the pad and can be closed with Velcro. By filling the pad with inserts on both sides of the spine, it provides additional spine freedom under the saddle, preventing the pad from pressing or rubbing against the spine while riding. This is particularly important for many treeless saddles, as not all treeless saddles provide sufficient spine freedom. There are 6 compartments for inserts/shims on the top side, 3 on each side of the spine. This allows you to optimize the saddle position as needed. Fill/shim separately for front/middle/back.

Maintenance and washing of the treeless Western pad with inserts:
To prolong the pad's lifespan, it's recommended to occasionally clean the pad with a vacuum cleaner if it's a little dirty. If the pad needs to be washed, it can be machine washed up to 30 degrees Celsius, but do not put it in the dryer. Remove the inserts before washing; this will allow the pad to dry much faster. Also, close the Velcro straps to prevent them from getting filled with lint and hair.
